When it comes to sustainability, the brand pushes for slow fashion by ensuring that all its collections are made by hand using recycled fabric and sustainable ink. Each piece is made with a passion that can easily be seen through the unique, intricate design and quality of each collection.
Egypt-born Farah Wali’s work is underpinned by all things green, using sustainable ink and recycled fabrics to create her dramatic, architectural pieces. It’s little wonder she won Fashion Star Arabia last year.
Wali describes her brand as Italian made with a Pharaonic soul. “Maison Farah Wali is all about bringing quality, art and beauty into each garment. The aim is to customize and personalize the clothes to our customers in order to showcase the uniqueness of each individual, with an aspiration to bring back the Egyptian heritage back in Fashion and shows throughout the brand’s collections, embodying how Fashion Design directly influences our mindset, daily routine and even inspirations.
A number of exciting new designers will also be taking to the Fashion Forward runway with their designs, including Hass Idriss, Hazem Kais, Jessica K, Maison Farah Wali, Reemami, Thym, and Tanya Skaff.

Dubbing itself a “street couture” brand, Egyptian designer Farah Wali has won several awards for her vision of wearable art. Her design aesthetic is derived from a mix between experimental, modern and chic. As well as personalisation and customisation at it’s core, sustainability is another key focus for the label as they use recycled fabric and sustainable ink throughout.

The winner of the contest selected by the international jury was Farah Sherif Wali from Polimoda, with her project “The path to divinity”. Second place went to Anna Lena Biotti from Iuav with the project “Wendy”, while third place was assigned to the project “Sediments” of Danielle Thaxton from Fidm.
A story of passion such as this has quite a happy ending, or rather a happy beginning. Wali just became the first Egyptian to win the Fashion Star Arabia title, one of the most prestigious fashion awards in the Arab world. Despite being the youngest competitor, Wali had her eyes on the prize, and she got it. After all, this wasn’t her first accomplishment.

I-Skool is a denim award held in collaboration with Copenhagen Fashion Summit. It showcased the work of ten fashion students with the eventual winner, Farah Sherif Wali, being chosen by an International judging panel including previous creative director of Oscar De La Renta, Peter Copping and Bandana Tewari, fashion features director at Vogue India.
Farah showed attention to detail through her research into all elements of branding, using products produced by Avery Dennison Apparel Solutions, from the hangtag to the back patch to the packaging. This resulted in a stand-out and well developed use of color and logos, truly reflecting her own personal story of past, present and future.
